Michel MRF Struys, MD, PhD, FRCA is professor and chair at the department of anesthesiology, University Medical Center Groningen, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. He is also affiliated as Professor to the department of Anesthesiology, Ghent University, Gent, Belgium. He is a board certified anaesthetist in Belgium and the Netherlands and he is also board certified as a clinical pharmacologist in the Netherlands. His clinical interest in mainly in anaesthesia for high-risk patient undergoing abdominal, oncology, and transplant surgery. In addition to his editorial work for Anesthesia&Analgesia, he is a member of the Editor Board of the British Journal of Anaesthesia. He is member of various national and international scientific organizations and is first or senior author of various publications and the author of multiple books and book chapters.
