Summary

This book will provide an exploration and commentary on the social policies and practices of the last ten years in relation to families, children and young people. Although not a commentary solely on the policies of New Labour, the book will examine such things as 'Every Child Matters' and Labour's 'Third Way', but will also place family welfare policies in the context of the EU, globalisation and international policy groups such as UNICEF. The book will be more explicitly textbook focused than other books in the series and will include summary boxes, bullet points and relevant media extracts.
