Author Biography

Noam Chomsky, Professor of Linguistics at MIT, is the author recently of 9-11 (a national bestseller) and Failed States (2006). One of the most widely cited scholars in history, he revolutionized the contemporary study of linguistics. His political essays are widely read throughout the world Gilbert Achcar, an internationally acclaimed political analyst, grew up in Lebanon before living in Paris, Berlin, and London, where he is now Professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London. He is the author of several books on contemporary politics, including The Clash of Barbarisms (Paradigm 2006) and The 33-Day War (Paradigm 2007). His books have been translated into fourteen languages
