-- This twenty-second edition contains all new entries, prices and photographs
In its twenty-one years of publication, Dorothy Hammond's Pictorial Price Guide to American Antiques and Objects Made for the American Market has become, without a doubt, the preeminent book of reference for the antique trade throughout the country.
This 2002-2003 edition includes a selection of more than 5,000 individual objects, illustrated in over 300 categories of the collecting field. The objects covered date from colonial times to the mid-1950s, and range from the relatively common to the rare, with the emphasis placed on what is available to the average collector.
The format is designed to provide an accurate market value of items sold at auction from January through December 2001. Entries are keyed to the auction gallery where an item was sold; the month it was sold as well as the state abbreviation have been included due to regional variations across the country.
