The stories in this book are about prayer and trust in God. Turning to God in everyday living and especially in difficult times, acknowledges our trust in Him and our complete dependence on Him. God answers our prayers in the manner He believes will serve us best. Sometimes, the answer is hard to understand, especially when the answer given is not what was asked for. But-in due time, our Merciful Savior always gives us more and better than we prayed for. Have faith that He listens. Prayers are always answered.Remember that with God's help, we can also help ourselves. We can indulge in the God-given comforts of Earth. It's possible to minimize stress by practicing deep breathing, by walking for exercise, and by talking with family and friends. And-it helps to partake in a bite-or a bit more-of His "Divinely Delicious" chocolate for comfort. Chocolate delivers a bunch of antioxidants and feel-good chemicals to the brain as well as comfort to the taste buds. We bet that God approves of using a bit of His chocolate to help us out! So-we added favorite recipes for chocolate comfort between the stories. Pray a lot. Trust God. And-it's O.K. to have a bite of God's comfort-giving chocolate now and again. Author Biography

Rosemarie Gortler taught nursing at the St. Vincent's Medical Center School of Nursing on Staten Island, N.Y. Since moving to Virginia, she has been in a private group practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Currently retired, she continues to volunteer individual, marital and family counseling at Catholic Charities. Her free time is spent doing favorite activities-enjoying family and writing. Rosemarie and her husband, Fred, have five children and eighteen grandchildren.Diane Carroll Vogel was born in Michigan, but has resided in Virginia with her husband, Tom, for most of her life. A retired high school English teacher and freelance writer, she has won awards from the Virginia Press Women and National Federation of Press Women. Her articles have appeared in such publications as Pauses, the Virginia Association of Teachers of English Language Arts' Virginia English Bulletin, and The Free Lance-Star's Saturday magazine, Town & County. In addition to writing pursuits, Diane enjoys traveling with Tom, being involved in church, professional and social activities, and û most especially û spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sallie Bachar is the editor of Pauses, a quarterly publication for Christian women, which she and a friend created out of a mutual desire to inspire and nurture a woman's spirit. She is also a newspaper journalist and freelance writer. Her work has appeared in The Family Digest, Liguorian, Canticle and other publications. Sallie also facilitates retreats and workshops on writing and spiritual journaling and is currently enrolled in a training program for spiritual directors. She and her husband, Ted, live in north central Wisconsin and have three grown children and nine grandchildren.
