Summary

I will delve in to the problem of evil and the four models thereof only. I will use texts and film to give a written and visual depiction of the problems that can be examined. Each model with use the texts and a film for analysis. There will be chapters on other texts for further examination if the reader so choses to continue examining the topics, as well as other forms of visual depiction such as films and art. The Philosophy of evil is used in not only philosophical courses, but health ethics and religious studies as well. The four models are as follows: (1)Manicheanism; (2) Theodicy); (3) Perspectivalism); (4) Privation AKA Augustinianism). After an introduction which makes the case for the importance of studying evil I will take the reader to a place where they are forced to re-thinking evil, the book contains chapters that provide a careful account and analysis of the aforementioned models, in the order just mentioned. I will use key texts and films to help assist with comprehension of the concepts presented. This is philosophy for everyone! The book is informal yet academic as well. A good mix for everyone.
