Helping you use program evaluation standards most effectively
With oversight from the Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation, Yarbrough, Schulha, Hopson, and Caruthers have revised and illustrated this new edition of the Program Evaluation Standards. These thirty standards support the core attributes of evaluation quality: utility, feasibility, propriety, accuracy, and accountability, and provide guidance to anyone interested in planning, implementing, or using program evaluations. The book is an invaluable resource for practicing evaluators, students, evaluation users, and clients.
This book helps users to recognize and improve evaluation quality. Each of the core chapters presents one attribute of quality and its accompanying standards. After an introductory overview to the attribute and the introduction of a case scenario, individual standard sections provide clarification and rationales, specific considerations for implementation, and some hazards to try to avoid.
To help illustrate how standards are used, each standard section ends with an application of the case scenario. Taken all together, the applications tell the story of how evaluation quality is constructed in specific situations.
