Author Biography

Inge Petersen is a professor of psychology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Arvin Bhana is a psychologist; the deputy executive director at the child, youth, family, and social-development research program of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC); and an adjunct associate professor of psychology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Alan J. Flisher is a professor and the head of the division of child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He is the coeditor of Promoting Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health in East and Southern Africa. Leslie Swartz is a professor of psychology at the University of Stellenbosch and a former director in the child, youth, family, and social-development research program at the HSRC. She is the coauthor of Zip Zip My Brain Harts: Photographs by Angela Buckland and the coeditor of Disability and Social Change: A South African Agenda. Linda Richter is the executive director of the child, youth, family and social-development research program at the HSRC. She is the coauthor of Family and Community Interventions for Children Affected by AIDS and National Household HIV Prevalence and Risk Survey of South African Children and the coeditor of Baba: Men and Fatherhood in South Africa, Reflective Practice: Psychodynamic Ideas in the Community, and Sexual Abuse of Young Children in Southern Africa.
