Summary

From its beginning in the forest, a little evergreen tree strives for perfection. Years go by as he sees other trees being taken away at Christmas. He wants to be picked too. One cold winter day a boy and girl choose him! He gets to experience the joy other Christmas trees do but is sad when he realizes Christmas doesn't last forever. Because he has focused on being the best he can be, things turn out differently for him than for most. He is given a permanent home with the family that chose him and becomes an example others follow.

Author Biography

Mary Ann Lawless has expressed her creative talents as owner of a deli, a gift shop, and as a floral designer for weddings prior to teaming up with Arlene McCool in a successful interior decorating business. She and her husband traveled extensively during his military career and chose Tennessee as a permanent home upon his retirement. Arlene McCool loved to draw since she was old enough to hold a crayon. Grandmother to nine grandchildren, she enjoys creating pictures that make stories coma alive for children. Arlene met Mary Ann several years ago and enjoyed working with her in an interior decorating business they started together. Arlene and her husband live in east Tennessee. Recently Mary Ann and Arlene have turned their talents to the creation of fun stories for children that have a lesson for life.
