Summary

The Creek War of 1813–14, a war within the larger War of 1812, is destined to make a significant and lasting impact on the future course of the United States of America. Rage of Eagles is much more than an account of the Creek War, however. It is a personal saga that vividly depicts the struggles of a beautiful, young Cherokee woman who, after surviving the Fort Mims massacre, is captured by an evil, ruthless white trader. It is also the story of Matthew McLean, a tall, ruggedly handsome frontiersman and Indian fighter who, along with thousands of his fellow Tennesseans, responds to the stirring beat of the long roll calling men to arms to avenge the deaths of their countrymen.
