Author Biography

Michael Pressley, PhD, is University Distinguished Professor in Teacher Education, as well as Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education, at Michigan State University. With more than 300 publications, he has made numerous research contributions to the fields of memory development, metacognition, and reading. His reading research has focused on vocabulary instruction, comprehension strategies, and the nature of effective literacy instruction.
