Summary

In addition to space, time is a central coordinate of human existence and yet remains an enigmatic and paradoxical phenomenon, since objective chronometry is often quite different from the individual perception of time. In an age of increasing speed and acceleration, contemporary art reveals a tendency towards slowness and an acute consciousness of time. This catalogue outlines the changing understanding of time and presents contemporary aesthetic positions.
