Author Biography

SHANE O'NEILL is Professor of Political Theory and Dean of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen's University Belfast, UK. He has published widely on political philosophy and is author of Impartiality in Context (1997). His most recent books include Recognition, Equality and Democracy (2008), and After the Nation? (2010)

NICHOLAS H. SMITH is Professor of Philosophy at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. He has published extensively in philosophy and critical social theory. His previous books include Strong Hermeneutics (1997) and Charles Taylor (2002) and he is editor of Reading McDowell (2002), Critique Today (2006) and New Philosophies of Labour (2012).
