Summary

"Red Alert! offers insight, hope, and a path forward." — Billy Frank Jr,, Chairman, Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission "What the world needs today is a good dose of indigenous realism," says Native American scholar Daniel Wildcat in the thoughtful, forward-looking treatise. The Native response to the environmental crisis facing our planet, Red Alert! seeks to debunk our civilization's long-misguided perception that humankind is at odds with nature or that it exerts control over the natural world. Taking a hard look at the biggest problem we face today-the damaging way we live on this planet, our Mother Earth- Wildcat draws upon ancient Native American wisdom and nature-centered beliefs to advocate a modern strategy to combat the catastrophic affects of a warming globe. Inspiring and insightful, Red Alert! is a stirring call to action.
