Author Biography

Brian Jacques has lived an extraordinary life. Having left school at fifteen, he has worked as a docker, seaman, truck driver, policeman, comedian, broadcaster and playwright. A resident of Liverpool, he is at present host of his own Sunday afternoon radio program on BBC, Jakestown. It is a program that includes "grand opera, humor, American music ... laced with nostalgia and social comment." Father of two grown children, Mark and David, Jacques is above all a storyteller. His stage plays include Brown Bitter, Wet Nellies, and Scouse. Redwall, teeming with the exuberance of his own life, is Jacques' first novel, the middle volume of a trilogy about the Redwall mice.
