Summary

There is another Los Angeles that exists beyond the Tar Pits, the Hollywood Sign and the bus tours of "stars" homes. It's the real Los Angeles and it offers more unique, interesting and one-of-a-kind experiences, whether you're a lifetime resident or just visiting for the weekend, than any stop on a tour bus. Resident Touristuncovers diverse locations throughout Los Angeles that are lighter on the pocketbook and less in the spotlight than the typical haunts filled with camera toting out-of-towners, with a focus on giving you your own truly memorable only-in-L.A experience.

Author Biography

Aaron M. Fontana came to L.A. in 1996, where he has written for L.A. Weekly, L.A. Downtown News and Los Angeles' Entertainment Today, among other publications. He has been a resident tourist ever since.

Kelly Mayfield has lived in Southern California most of her life, although her heart belongs to Ireland. She's lived in Hollywood for all of her truly formative years and not so coincidentally, worked for LA Weekly, for those same formative years. As a result of hanging out with musicians for those truly formative years, she married one.

Chuck Mindenhall has lived in Los Angeles since 1995. He writes for LA
Weekly and City Pages among other publications.
