Author Biography

A cultural icon and eminent literary figure in mainland Europe, Jacques RTda (b. 1929) is the author of over thirty books, including works of poetry, autobiographical prose, short novels, and essays on topics ranging from jazz to city life to literature. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the prestigious Grand Prix de l'AcadTmie Frantaise (1993) and the Prix Goncourt (1999), both awarded in recognition of his lifetime's work.
