Author Biography

The Princeton Language Institute is a consortium of experts composed of linguists, lexicographers, writers, teachers, and businesspeople. Applying academic rigor to practical endeavor, the Institute enables writers and members of professional communities to enhance their communication and language skills as they work to meet the challenges and complexities of the 21st century. The Princeton Language Institute is based in Princeton, New Jersey. Barbara Ann Kipfer is the head lexicographer of Roget's 21st Century Thesaurus, the most advanced thesaurus available for writers. She holds a Ph.D. and an M. Phil. in linguistics from England's University of Exeter, and she is a pioneer in electronic lexical systems. She has designed and assembled lexicographic references and conducted lexicographic research for many clients. She lives in Milford, Connecticut.
