Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, born in Brittany in 1971 and 1976 respectively,ive and work in Paris. They are freelance designers with an aptitude forreating items that are both simple and intelligent. Their innovative mindsllow them to bring to life mechanisms that encompass numerous possibilities.mong other things they have designed furniture and objects for Cappellini,itra, Habitat and Iittala. They came to the world's attention through aumber of exhibitions and received the Grand Prix du Jury International athe Paris Furniture Fair in 1998, the Grand Prix du Design de la Ville dearis, the Best New Designer Award New York (1999), and a "Compasso d'Oro"omination for the Spring Chair (2001). Their pieces belong to the permanentollections at the Centre Georges Pompidou and the Museum of Modern Art inew York, and their design for an Issey Miyake A-POC space opened in Paris in000. Author Biography

Giulio Cappellini is a founding member of furniture manufacturer Cappellini and works with young designers all over the world. He first discovered the Bouroullecs.

Rolf Fehlbaum is Chairman of furniture manufacturer Vitra and commissioned the Bouroullecs to develop a revolutionary new office system.

Issey Miyake, renowned fashion designer, commissioned the brothers to design the A-POC shop in Paris, and other showrooms.
