Summary

Sammy, as depicted in Amy Gant's superb illustrations, was my beloved pet for 8 years. In my grieving process after his loss, the idea to write a book honoring him became more and more apparent. Thus, Sammy's great adventure series was designed, with the first book theme depicting a "safari" adventure of his day. In addition, Sammy and his family include a simple chore chart, with the ultimate free time to play soccer after the chores are completed. Sammy's friend (in real life as well) finishes his chores and joins Sammy for some serious soccer.Mom & Dad fix lunch and send them out to play. Later on, Steve goes home and Sammy gets ready for bed, remembering to thank everyone who helped him on his "safari" and especially his young readers, who are inspired to read more in the series about Sammy and his next big adventure.
