Matt Maiocco has been a sportswriter in the Bay Area for more than 15 years, currently with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and previously for the Santa Rosa Press Democrat and Contra Costa Times. He has co-authored two books on the 49ers. A native of Corning and a graduate of Humboldt State, Maiocco lives in the Bay Area. His leaping catch to win the 1981 NFC Championship Game against the Dallas Cowboys is the single-most memorable moment in franchise history, and one of the all-time iconic moments in pro football history. His number 87 jersey is retired by the 49ers. Since 2011, he has been an on-air analyst for Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's 49ers Postgame Live show.
