Author Biography

Stacy McAnulty is the author of dozens of books for children, including the lauded middle-grade novels The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl and The World Ends in April (Random House: 2018, 2019). She is also the author of the popular nonfiction picture book series, Our Universe (Macmillan: 2017, cont.), which includes: Earth! My First 4.54 Billion Years, Sun! One in a Billion, Moon! Earth’s Best Friend, Ocean! Waves for All, and Mars! Visitors Wanted. Nearly all of her books have been JLG selections. Stacy is a mechanical-engineer-turned-author with a special affinity for making complex science entertaining and mainstream. When not writing, Stacy likes to listen to NPR, bake triple-chocolate cupcakes, and eat triple-chocolate cupcakes. Originally from upstate NY, she now lives in Kernersville, NC with her 3 kids, 3 dogs, and 1 husband.
