Summary

IF YOU TOUCH, I'LL TELL is more than just a book! It's an alarm system for children!

For those ready to introduce the topic of inappropriate touching to their child, this book is the perfect interactive companion. This simple, rhyming poem with vibrant illustrations and posters, teaches children how to protect themselves from inappropriate touching. It also introduces children to the concept of voice power. This book encourages children to speak up. With this book, parents and children can have an important discussion on staying safe and deactivating predators.

This book serves a similar purpose to the security alert symbol outside your home, warning thieves to stay away. Every book comes with five paper badges that your child can wear daily, as a warning to predators that they have voice power and will use it! This book includes a short note to trusted adults on who predators are, where they lurk, and tips that can help protect your child from inappropriate touching.

Preventing a child from being abused is one of the most important things trusted adults can do. "Prevention is better than cure," especially in the case of sexual abuse.

Author Biography

Dr. Shamina Aubuchon holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, with a focus in Immunology, from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She did her postdoctoral fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine, at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has several scientific publications on the immunology of Type one diabetes, even receiving a publication spotlight in the JDRF's nPOD magazine in 2011.

Dr. Aubuchon is a survivor of child sexual abuse and an advocate for children in those horrific and traumatizing situations. She knew it was her purpose to write this book but suppressed the calling within her. Dr. Aubuchon was born in the Commonwealth of Dominica and resides in Virginia with her husband and two children. Mariia Luzina was born in 1994, in the small city of Kryvyi, Ukraine, where she lived with her grandparents. At the age of 15 she immigrated to Naples, Italy, to live with her mother, where she obtained a degree in Political Science at the "L'Orientale" University. From a very young age, Mariia loved to draw, so mush so, that went to an art school when she was passionate about art, she considered drawing just a hobby. When she was 20, her best friend encouraged her to become an illustrator for children's books. Mariia decided to give it a try and has never looked back!
