Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Central Nervous System Diseases

This book provides an outstanding description of diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) and their presentation by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Stress is laid upon neuropathological peculiarities of the diseases, knowledge of which is of great importance for the correct evaluation of their impact on signal intensity and for the choice of adequate imaging parameters. The clinical section is preceded by a list of leading neurological symptoms and their topical correlations which serves to obtain accuracy not only in formulating diagnostic questions, but also in performing the examination. The excellent detailed presentation of the anatomy of the CNS in the MR image allows a more profound study of the relationship between the site of the lesion and its effects on function and, with it, the symptoms, than has ever been the case in existing radiological books.
