This book is designed as an introduction for officers detailed to the operations officer billet, whether assigned to patrol coastal ships or to major commands. This book is also a useful reference for all operations department personnel, from those trying to figure out the complex organization where they work to those senior enlisted leaders broadening their knowledge of the department and the ship.
