This guide addresses both the specific symptoms and side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments And The emotional issues the survivor may be grappling with, such as fear of death, uncertainty, and lack of control. Readers use mindfulness meditation, relaxation and breathing exercises, visualization, lovingkindness meditation, and gentle yoga to thrive throughout cancer treatment and all the years beyond.

Author Biography

Linda E. Carlson, PhD., R. Psych., holds the Enbridge Research Chair in Psychosocial Oncology and is associate professor in psychosocial oncology at the University of Calgary. She is director of psychosocial oncology research and a clinical psychologist at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, Canada. Michael Speca, Psy.D., R.Psych., is adjunct associate professor of psychosocial oncology at the University of Calgary, a clinical psychologist, and cofounder of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre's Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery program. Zindel Segal, PhD., is the Morgan Firestone Chair in Psychotherapy and professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
