Author Biography

DONALD C. STOUFFER is Professor of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati and lectures on the Ohio Aerospace Institute television network. He has been active in constitutive and life modeling of high-temperature superalloys, metal matrix composites, single crystal superalloys, polymers, and biological materials, and has published and lectured widely in the field. Professor Stouffer has, in addition, worked for the U.S. Air Force, General Electric Aircraft Engines, and the Aeronautical Research Laboratories in Australia. L. THOMAS DAME is a Technical Fellow at the Structural Dynamics Research Corporation. His recent work is on the development of commercial finite element codes, including the implementation of nonlinear material models. Dr. Dame has also worked as Senior Engineer for the International TechneGroup Incorporated and for General Electric Aircraft Engines. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
