Summary

By the time medical students graduate and become junior hospital doctors they should be able to recognise basic radiological signs and apply relevant diagnostic imaging investigations. However, partly due to an overcrowded undergraduate curriculum, students in many medical schools have relatively little instruction in diagnostic radiology. 'Clinical Radiology for Medical Students' however, remedies this situation by providing the student with a comprehensive guide to basic diagnostic radiology and its value or limitations. For this new edition, 'Clinical Radiology for Medical Students' has been completely updated and the content expanded to include not only the new imaging modalities but also an introductory section covering other equally important aspects of radiology. These include chapters on how to use a department of clinical radiology, details of the different contrast agents used in radiological investigations and information on how images are actually produced. The inclusion of these and other relevant subject areas means that the third edition of this well-established textbook will provide the medical student with a thorough understanding of all aspects of diagnostic radiology together with a basic knowledge of its application in a clinical setting. This textbook should be an essential component of any medical student's bookshelf.
