Author Biography

DIETER STEIN is Professor for English Language and Linguistics at Heinrich-Heine-Universitt, Dsseldorf, Germany. He is Editor-in-chief of eLanguage (http://elanguage.net/home.php). He is also the author of The Semantics of Syntactic Change (1990), co-editor of Subjectivity and Subjectivization (1995), Taming the Vernacular (1997), Pathways of Change, and Grammaticalization in English (2000). 
 
FRANCES OLSEN, Professor of Law, University of California, Los Angeles, USA, has taught and lectured in hundreds of venues on every continent except Antarctica. She has published numerous articles and is editor of Feminist Legal Theory I: Foundations and Outlooks (1995) and Feminist Legal Theory II: Positioning Feminist Legal Theory Within the Law (1995).  
 
R. ALEXANDER LORZ holds the Chair for German and Foreign Public Law, International Public Law and European Law at Heinrich-Heine-University Dsseldorf, Germany. He is currently Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and the Arts in the German state of Hesse. He is member of the Board of the German Society of Comparative Law and heads the Section Comparative Public Law. He is also member of the Board of the German-American Lawyers Association and the Dsseldorf Institute for Foreign and Security Policy.
