Summary

On a world called Urvara there were three major landmasses. The largest is called Sharq Talamh which means East Earth. Next is Hensa'el Azhur which was the Heidelands and finally there is B'idrarb AraDi, Far West Lands. They all had enjoyed relative peace. Yet 2000 years ago that peace was destroyed by the Great War that almost took Urvara's population back to the stone age. The population has struggled until they are now at the point they were before the Great War. Now a force ancient and powerful is returning to lay claim to the lands, and the 'lesser' beings of creation. Ravier; is the second of the first two born of the power of THE ONE, and seeks dominion over those that were made out of Its thoughts and those not of Its thoughts. Having been narrowly defeated in Its last attempt at supremacy, Ravier is older, wiser and more determined to see Its will obeyed. The 'lesser' beings, evolving from the microscopic into Urvara's two dominant species, now rule the two major landmasses. There are the two-armed 'Men' and the four-armed 'Heides'. Only the females of both species are the same - two arms. The Heides are the product of Ravier's tinkering with evolution. As soon as they had conscious thought Ravier began to tinker with that as well. While men were left to learn on their own, Ravier made sure the Heides already had the knowledge necessary to be the superior species. Yet in the Great War, the men had won; and Ravier's Heides betrayed It by accepting THE ONE as their GOD. Ravier cursed Its creation and very few Heides left the battlefield alive or returned to their homes. Now the remaining Heides have diminished to a small handful in Sharq Talamh and B'idrarb AraDi and Hensa'el Azhur vanished in Ravier's final act against Its own. Men have rebuilt their homes, their lives and have forgotten the lessons of their past. The remaining Heides wait on a terrible 'Summons' which will signal the return of their master. A vast rolling prairie called the Plains of Sorrow in B'idrarb AraDi is the only reminder of the terrible price paid in lives lost in the last war. Grass and wildflowers cover the venerable dead now; it is a place peaceful and benign. The next generation of B'idrarb AraDi is poised to take its rightful place in the scheme of things. But, nothing mortal is allowed to last forever and shadows have been seen crossing the lands of B'idrarb AraDi. Ravier has returned. Against Its power who can prevail?
