Author Biography

M. G. "Pat" Robertson

M. G. "Pat" Robertson founded Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1977. He currently serves as the university’s president and chancellor. Dr. Robertson has achieved national and international recognition as a religious broadcaster, philanthropist, educator, religious leader, businessman, and author.  He is the founder and chairman of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) Inc. and founder of International Family Entertainment Inc., Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation, American Center for Law and Justice, The Flying Hospital, Inc., and several other organizations and broadcast entities.

 

Alan A. Arroyo, B.S.Ed., M.Ed., Ed.D., Dean

Dr. Alan A. Arroyo is currently dean and professor in the School of Education at Regent University. Recently, Dr. Arroyo was co-director for a project funded by the U.S Department of Education to train educators on how to teach character in public schools. He has co-authored many professional publications ranging in topic from dealing with school discipline issues to meeting the needs of students with disabilities. His current research interests are in the areas of leadership, character education, and building resilience in youth.  Before coming to Regent University, Dr. Arroyo was a teacher and administrator in public schools, specializing in Special and Alternative Education.         

 

 

Hope Jordan, B.S., M.Ed., Ed.S., Ph.D., Professor

Dr. Hope Jordan is currently a professor and Department Chair in the School of Education at Regent University. Dr. Jordan also directs the K-12 Special Education Program, the Reading Specialist Program, the Autism Certificate Program, and co-directs the program for the Ed.S. in Leadership with an Emphasis in Special Education.

Dr. Jordan has more than 30 years experience in the field of education.  Her background in the K-12 setting as a special and general educator both in the United States and abroad provides practical expertise in her professor and consultant roles. She has presented at numerous conferences and has authored and co-authored many articles and books. Her areas of expertise include teacher and leader preparation, general and special education, leadership, women in leadership, global education and leadership, and school improvement. Some of her current research interests include teacher and leader preparation, students with special needs, and international education issues.
