Summary

Wade Lassiter, a renowned gunfighter, was actually an Easterner. Drifting west at an early age, he never expected to gain a reputation as a shootist. Like all young men, he purchased a six gun. Anyone without one received a questioning look. Always fast with his hands, he became adept at the fast draw. The first time he killed a man was only because he was backed into a corner and had no choice. Thus began the legend of Wade Lassiter. Unlike most gunfighters (a term he hated), he only drew his gun when he was in a kill-or-be-killed situation. This changed when he killed Clay Kincaid. He did all he could to avoid any confrontations until, once again, he had no choice.
