Author Biography

E.F. Schumacher (1911-1977) was a Rhodes scholar who developed the concept of Intermediate Technology for developing countries. He is best known for his critique of Western economics and his solutions calling for human-scale, decentralized, and appropriate technologies. His legacy continues today in the work of the E.F. Schumacher Society.
