Author Biography

Amina Al-Saigh is a wife and mother of two, and she loves to share modern and simplified recipes that are approachable and utilize beautiful, fresh ingredients and delicious Arabic spices.

Amina is from Mosul in Northern Iraq, but she has spent most of her life in Canada. Her blogging adventure started when she was on maternity leave with her son, when she wanted to shed some of those stubborn pregnancy pounds and share healthier recipes to motivate herself. Since then, she has fallen in love with sharing her food and photography with the world. She now has a large Instagram following of 104,000 @hungrypaprikas as well as over 122,000 monthly page views on her blog!

Most of the recipes she shares are inspired by her Middle Eastern heritage, using flavors she knows and loves. But you won’t catch her sharing super time-consuming recipes. She likes to find creative ways to simplify these complex dishes so she can still enjoy them and manage her sanity!

She loves to travel and explore food from all over the world. She spent five years living in London and continued traveling around Europe. She truly believes that food brings people together—it’s a global language that can bring with it happiness and peace.
