This bibliography continues the ground-breaking work done by Georg Peter Landmann (Stefan George und sein Kreis. Eine Bibliographie. 2nd edition, Hamburg 1976). Unlike Landmann it restricts itself entirely to George. Works by members of his circle are only included to the extent that they refer explicitly to George. The literature listed by Landmann as appearing between 1897 and 1976 is supplemented in accordance with modified inclusion principles. The bibliography is chronological in its layout. Part One lists works, correspondence and prints of the Stefan George Foundation, while Part Two encompasses the literature on Stefan George, first the addenda up to 1976, then the publications from the years 1976 to 1997.
