Summary

Brad Smiley is the great grand nephew of Daniel Knight, a confederate soldier from Amherst County, Virginia. After finding several letters in the family Bible, Smiley became interested in Daniel and his brothers. In 1994, he began his extensive research for The Stone Wall. He followed in Daniel's footsteps, visiting his birthplace, his campsites, and battlefields and captured Daniel's vision, hopes and dreams in a powerful, emotional story. Brad lives with his wife Barbara, near their four daughters and seven grandchildren in Atlanta, Georgia.
