Strong Arm Tactics

The quarterback has arguably the toughest, most high-pressure position to play among all sports. He touches the ball on every offensive snap and is responsible for reading the defense, adjusting the play, and executing complex schemes that require tremendous physical and mental prowess. He is expected to be the undisputed team leader.

John Maxymuk is a reference librarian at Rutgers University. He is the author of Uniform Numbers of the NFL (2005), as well as other books and articles. He is also a columnist for The Bottom Line: Managing Library Finances and issue editor for Journal of Government Information. He lives in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
