Author Biography

Fiona Bateman is a Post-Doctoral Researcher on the Globalization, Empire and Culture strand of the Texts, Contexts, Cultures project at the Moore Institute, NUI Galway. Her PhD addressed the subject of Ireland's 'spiritual empire' in the twentieth century. Lionel Pilkington is a Senior Lecturer in English at NUI Galway. He is the author of Theatre and the State in Twentieth Century Ireland: Cultivating the People and Theatre Ireland, as well as various articles on Irish theatre history and politics.
