Summary

We follow best friends Robin and Tommy through their formative high school and college years, and into their early twenties. Secretly, Robin has always wanted more than friendship. Their lives take them on two trajectories, Robin to the Adirondack Mountains and Tommy to the heart of Manhattan. As they explore love interests of their own, their friendship is put to the test. But on one drunken night, Tommy confesses to Robin what happened to him in the fifth grade. It's alarming and crushing, and it explains a lot.

Robin's environmentalist career path, leads her (literally) to the man of her dreams. Meanwhile Tommy leads in an Off-Broadway production that mimics his own life; where he struggles with his sexuality. It's evident they are still each other's "person"—the one whom the other always calls, but mistrust and conflict swarm them. A distraught and helpless Tommy spirals out of sight and Robin devises a plan to make him resurface. She plans to save him yet he thinks she is the one who needs saving… Saving from the deception of her so-called "woodsman."

A dangerous lightning storm rolls into town and much more than trees come crashing down. With excruciating consequences, a family secret gets exposed, a proposal is foiled, a friend goes missing, and a masquerade is in full swing.

Using dialogue effectively throughout, Scantlebury brings a variety of characters to Life. They are eclectic as they are endearing, making the story both compelling and relevant. The Sun and The Moon is a story of love and friendship in a modern-day setting, stressing the importance of how a best friend's support is vital when dealing with life.

This compelling debut, with real life events and a cult-like list of "must see" places, will find its way into the hearts of people who crave the truth and seek definitive stories.

"The Sun and The Moon" is Willa's debut novel. A professional Graphic Designer with her advertising firm for over 35 years, her creativity and attention to detail are apparent in her writing. Her humanitarian logic and realistic dialogs are enticing. A self-diagnosed dyslexic, (until spellcheck became user-friendly), she never considered writing, but business got slow, and her creativity didn't. She's a mother, a sports enthusiast, and a lover of everything about the outdoors and nature. She lives on the largest lake in New Jersey with her husband of 26 years.
