Author Biography

Michael van Straten is a well-known complementary medicine practitioner in the UK, and is a practicing osteopath, naturopath, acupuncturist, and nutritional consultant. He appears frequently on British radio and TV, and his regular radio program in London, Bodytalk, has brought him thousands of devoted fans. He recently published two books on healthy eating and his writing commitments include the alternative health editorship of Woman magazine and regular contributions to several UK national newspapers. Author and journalist Barbara Griggs has been studying and writing about complementary medicine for the past 25 years. She is health editor of Country Living magazine, and freelances regularly for British newspapers, including the Evening Standard and the Daily Mail. Among the many books she has published are The Food Factor, a history of nutrition, and Green Pharmacy: A History of Western Herbal Medicine.
