In Synthetic Savior, I have contrasted the irrational motivations and desperate yearnings of a few pioneers with those of a few followers in the real estate profession, combined with one slick pacesetter, Jesop E. Carlton, along with an exemplar, Sean, to establish contrast. The off-beat humor and satire also add much emphasis without seeming at all silly or overly sardonic; irony drives the most esteemed thematic throughout. But getting to the "meat and potatoes" of this work, readers understand and retain more in-depth patterns and customs of this angst and spite through the protagonist and antagonist, Beth and Jaime, and in an even larger context by the unexpected turn-around of the growing or developing character, Crystal. Surely the literary dynamics are exaggerated, but they are completely within the ball-park of corporate angst. Other fictionalized Realtors also serve either as complements or dynamic symbols to illustrate alternate depictions of greed.
