Author Biography

Robert Ferguson is a former U.S. Marine Corps sergeant, a three-time U.S. Armed Forces taekwondo gold medalist, a military athlete of the year, and winner of more than 300 taekwondo, wrestling, boxing and karate championships. He teaches martial arts and hand-to-hand combat techniques to military personnel; provides seminars and workshops on rape prevention for women; and at his martial arts school, teaches taekwondo, sport karate, jujutsu, kickboxing and combative methods of fighting. Roland Ferrer began training in the Philippine martial arts in 1976. He holds a seventh-degree black belt in taekwondo. He also has studied hapkido, judo and kickboxing and uses his experience to train law-enforcement personnel in practical street self-defense.
