Author Biography

Judy Blume spent her childhood in Elizabeth, New Jersey, making up stories inside her head. She's still at it. Her twenty-three books have won more than ninety awards, none more important than those coming from her youngest readers. Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is the first in a series of five books about Peter, Fudge, and Sheila. Judy says: "Fudge is based on my son, Larry, when he was a toddler. But I got the idea for the episode with Dribble [Peter's pet turtle] from a news article. I don't want to spoil the story, so let's just say that Larry never did what Fudge does in the final chapter of this book. And I'm mighty glad he didn't!"
