Author Biography

Gail Bush, PhD, is professor in the Reading and Language Department, director of the Center for Teaching through Children's Books, and director of the School Library Program at National-Louis University in Chicago, IL. Her published works include School Library Media Programs: Civic Engagement, Social Justice, and Equity; Every Student Reads: Collaboration and Reading to Learn, and The School Buddy System: The Practice of Collaboration. Jami Biles Jones, PhD, is assistant professor in the Department of Library Science at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Her published works include Helping Teens Cope: Resources for School Library Media Specialists and Other Youth Workers, Bouncing Back: Dealing with the Stuff Life Throws at You, and The Power of Media Specialists to Improve Academic Achievement and Strengthen At-Risk Students.
