Author Biography

The American artist Jim Dine (b. 1935) is one of the most admired painters, sculptors and printmakers of the post-war period. He came to prominence in the early 1960s with Happenings and paintings that contributed to the nascent Pop Art movement. He has been honored with numerous museum retrospectives in the USA, Europe and the Far East, including major exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Isetan Museum of Art in Tokyo.
