Author Biography

C.T. Robert Hayward, D.Phil. (1975) in Oriental Studies, University of Oxford, is Professor of Hebrew in the University of Durham. He has published extensively on the Aramaic Targums. His most recent monograph is Interpretation of the Name Israel in Ancient Judaism (Oxford, 2005).
