Raquel Gimeno is traveling by car with her family. Her two sons and her mother rest in the back seat, while her husband drives alongside her. Exhausted from getting ready for the move, she closes her eyes and falls fast asleep. Upon awakening, she finds herself in a field. Still inside the vehicle. But she is alone. Her family has disappeared without a trace.
The case is assigned to Inspector Vázquez. However, these are not the best times for him either. His fiancée, Irene Ochoa, has also disappeared, and is accused of murder. He is reluctant to believe it, but, then where is she? Why has she run away? What secrets could the woman he loves have hidden from him?
Surrounded by questions and slammed by the pressures of a case that is woven with the darkest threads the human mind is capable of, Inspector Vázquez will face the greatest challenge of his career and of his life.
