Teacher Leadership: The "New" Foundations of Teacher Education, A Reader is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in classes for initial and advanced teacher licensure. Teacher leadership is a key thread in most current state standards for teacher licensure and is emerging as a key component of revisioned teacher licensure programs. Although there are numerous books on the topic, there is no reader or anthology that reflects a sampling of the literature on teacher leadership over the past decade. This book talks about teacher leadership within the context of teacher's work and the progress and development of the teaching profession. Author Biography

Eleanor Blair Hilty is Associate Professor at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, North Carolina. She has a PhD from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and teaches graduate foundations of education courses to students in both the United States and Jamaica. Her research and writing focus on the many different dimensions of teachers' work. She currently resides in Cashiers, North Carolina.
