Summary

We’re all human, sharing a planet and trying to get by. We’re all looking for happy. Why is it so hard to find? Ten Steps to Finding Happy navigates your soul. Each step comes with simple, specific actions—not vague mumbo-jumbo or convoluted language. This is a straightforward path to happiness, delivered to you by a writer, a psychologist and 24 experts. Award-winning author Selene Castrovilla tackles the emotional perspective, peppered with personal anecdotes and honest admissions. In the sections titled From the Doctor’s Desk, Dr. Lindsay S. Weisner offers logical, research-based, psychologist-approved information that will provide the PROOF for which lovers of reason thirst. Read both, and figure out what moves you more, your mind or your heart. There is no right or wrong answer. BONUS! In the A Note From the Expert segments, guest writers deep dive into their professions, providing clear information and scientific evidence backing up this ten-step process. Isn’t time to be on your way to happy? Advance praise for Ten Steps to Finding Happy: "I loved this book! McGinnis, host of FOMO Sapiens podcast and author of The 10% Entrepreneur: Live Your Startup Dream Without Quitting Your Day Job "Anyone who struggles with feeling fulfilled in daily life (read: anyone) can benefit from reading this book. Highly recommend!" -Dr. Samantha Rodman, founder of drpsychmom.com and author of 52 Emails to Transform Your Marriage and How To Talk To Your Kids About Your Divorce.  “These credentialed ladies will give you a book chock-full of research (why and how) and tons of motivation to get to feeling better in an easy to read book. Yes, I said a self-help book you will actually read. Not just donate next year.” —Tasha Jackson Fitzgerald, MA, MFT

Author Biography

Selene Castrovilla is the multiple award-winning and critically acclaimed author of ten books. She writes in multiple genres. LUNA RISING, her most recent book, won the Book Excellence Award for Chick Lit. Her young adult novels have been taught in high school and college curriculums, and her books for young readers on the American Revolution are on the shelves of thousands of libraries and classrooms. Selene is a frequent guest speaker and panelist at conferences and other events across the USA, and she conducts workshops for all ages. Selene holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from The New School and a B.A. in English from New York University. She is a member of the Bank Street College Writers Lab and the PEN American Children’s Book Committee. She is the Regional Advisor for the Long Island chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and a former chair of the Long Island Children’s Writers and Illustrators. Jacqueline Woodson, National Book Award recipient and Young People’s Poet Laureate, calls Selene “a writer worth watching.” Visit www.SeleneCastrovilla.com. Lindsay S. Weisner, Psy.D, is a wife, mother, psychologist, writer, and (regretful) PTA volunteer. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and her Doctorate from Long Island University. Dr. Weisner has wanted to be a writer since she was seven years old, when she painstakingly—and painfully—typed her first novel on a blue and white typewriter. The dramatic plot involved time travel, Madonna, and Raggedy Ann. Since then, her writing has improved slightly, and in 2014 she won the Cosmpolitan Magazine Fiction Writing Contest. Her fiction is represented by Jessica Alvarez at BookEnds Literary Agency (www.bookendsliterary.com). Dr. Weisner owns and operates a successful private practice in Long Island, where she specializes in treating teenagers and adults with anxiety and relationship issues. Dr. Weisner can be reached at drlindsayweisner@gmail.com or through her Facebook page, Mental Wellness Consultants @ Long Island Psychologists.
