Author Biography


Sonia Harris-Short began her academic career at Durham University and is now a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Birmingham. She has published widely in the areas of family law and international human rights and has a particular interest in the relationship between communal interests and the individual rights of family members.
Joanna Miles taught at Christ Church and Lincoln College, Oxford, before becoming Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge where she teaches family and criminal law. She has published in England and New Zealand in several areas, in particular family property and financial provision on relationship breakdown, and is currently on secondment to the Law Commission for England and Wales, working on the Cohabitation project.
